What's available besides a template in Shared Content?

As you are hopefully aware, University Relations provides a generic branded template for Marketing Cloud. In content builder, it is found in folder SHARED > Shared Content > UREL > Branded Template. That template is a single-column template that has the “View this message on the web,” wordmark, and unit name banner prepopulated. All of these are editable.

This folder also contains many free-form content blocks that were converted over from classic content. With the addition of the design tab, most of these blocks are outdated, but are still provided for users of older templates who still wish to use in-line CSS for styles. The Branded Template has styles for the BodyText, H1, H2, H3, Links, and Buttons, as well as Mobile Styles for these pre-defined in the design tab.

In SHARED > Shared Content > UREL > Footers, you will find three footers that provide the address personalization strings and unsubscribe links required by CAN-SPAM. The upcoming post on November 7 will cover when to use each one.

If your message is coming from or intended for a specific campus, each system campus has a branded template, with the only difference being the campus name included in the wordmark. Find these in SHARED > Shared Content > Campus abbreviation.

If you have a content block or layout you think might be useful for the whole campus community, please email [email protected] with the details and we may add it to the shared content.

Equal opportunity statement

University communications have always required some form of the U’s equal opportunity statement. Until now, this statement has somehow escaped mass email requirements.

After consulting with the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, the University is now requiring the short form of the equal opportunity statement on all mass email footers. You’ll find this statement has been added to the footers available in Marketing Cloud. If you use copies of these footers, you should update them accordingly.
